The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has released the inflation data for January 2026. Consequently, the legal rent increase rate for residential and commercial property owners renewing their contracts in February has been finalized.

Inflation Data Overview According to TurkStat figures, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 4.84% in January 2026 compared to the previous month. Other key indicators include:

  • Compared to December of the previous year: 4.84% increase

  • Compared to the same month of the previous year: 30.65% increase

  • Based on twelve-month averages: 33.98% increase

Maximum Rent Increase: 33.98% As of January, the 12-month average of the CPI, which is used as the basis for rent calculations, stood at 33.98%.

Based on this data, the maximum increase rate for tenants (both residential and commercial) who will sign or renew their rental agreements in February is capped at 33.98%.
